Craig County Jail Roster Overview
The official online path for Craig County inmate records is the Southern Software Citizen Connect Inmate Confinements portal for the Botetourt County Sheriff's Office. The portal covers the Botetourt-Craig Regional Jail, which is the primary jail serving Craig County arrests. It is not labeled as a Craig County-only roster, so a person may need to use Craig County arresting-agency filters inside a larger regional list.
Craig County's Sheriff's Office is at the courthouse area in New Castle and is led by Sheriff L. Trevor N. Craddock, but jail custody routes through Fincastle after booking. The jail's official page says Botetourt-Craig Regional Jail is managed and operated by the Botetourt County Sheriff's Office. That split matters. A local arrest record, a jail confinement record, and a formal court case may sit with different offices even when they concern the same person.

Craig County Booking Process
A Craig County arrest usually begins with a deputy, officer, or court process, then moves to magistrate review and jail booking when custody is required. Craig County Jail Mail
Ordinary inmate correspondence for Botetourt-Craig Regional Jail uses a Greensboro, North Carolina processing address, not the Fincastle street address. The mail must include Facility ID Number 5019, the detainee name, and the detainee ID number. New books are accepted only when mailed directly from the publisher. The jail page says hardback books, used books, and magazines are not accepted, and all mail is subject to search.

Craig County Custody Systems
Some inmate records leave the regional jail roster. A sentenced state prisoner or person under state supervision may appear in the VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator, which covers VADOC institutions, probationers and parolees, institutional hospitals, local or regional jail inmates under VADOC authority, and CCAP participants. VADOC says its locator is updated daily, but the data may be inaccurate or out of date.

Federal and immigration records use different systems. The BOP Inmate Locator is for federal prison and some historical federal custody records. The ICE Online Detainee Locator System searches civil immigration custody by A-number and country of birth or by biographical information. No BOP prison or ICE detention center was found inside Craig County.

Craig County FOIA and VINE

It also says VADOC no longer participates in VINE as of October 1, 2021, and points post-conviction victims to NAAVI and VADOC victim services.
No official Craig County Sheriff or Botetourt County Sheriff mobile app was found for inmate roster, warrant search, most-wanted records, or record requests. Paytel has a visitation app, VINELink has a notification app, and JPay has a VADOC money app, but none of those is an official sheriff roster app.
